The short version
- You can play the whole game without signing in. An account exists only so your score can appear on the world leaderboard.
- Signing in uses your Google Play Games profile. There is no email address, no password, and no form to fill in.
- From that profile we take three things: a player ID, your gamer tag, and your avatar. Then your scores. That is the whole list.
- The game shows ads. Our advertising partners collect device data to choose them — never your gamer tag or your scores.
- We never sell your data. Ask us to delete your account and we will, within 30 days — no reason needed.
Your account
There is one way to sign in: your Google Play Games profile. You can play without it, and nothing in the game is locked behind it except your place on the world leaderboard.
When you tap Play Games, Google's own sign-in appears and hands the game a one-time code. Our authentication provider, Firebase Authentication, exchanges that code for an account. From your profile we receive exactly three things:
- A player ID, which becomes your account ID. Google issues it, it is unique to this game, and it means nothing outside it.
- Your gamer tag, which becomes the name shown beside your score.
- Your avatar, shown beside that name.
There is no sign-up form, no password to choose, and no email address to give us. You made these choices once when you set up Play Games, and the game simply reuses them. Google never shares your password with us, and never shares the email address on your Google account.
What we collect
This is the complete list of what we store about you on our servers. None of it is collected until you sign in.
| Data | Why we need it | Visibility | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player ID | Your account ID. It ties everything below together, so a new score updates your row instead of adding another one. | Never shown | Until you delete your account |
| Gamer tag | The name beside your score on the leaderboard. It is your Play Games gamer tag, exactly as that profile already shows it. | Public | Until you delete your account |
| Avatar | Shown beside your name. We store a link to the picture on your Play Games profile, not a copy of it. | Public | Until you delete your account |
| Best score | The number the leaderboard ranks. Only your highest score is kept — a lower run never overwrites it. | Public | Until you delete your account |
| Highest tile | The largest cube you have merged, shown as a badge on your row. | Public | Until you delete your account |
| Country | Powers the country ranking. Read from your phone's language and region setting — not from GPS. The game requests no location permission. | Public | Until you delete your account |
| Last updated | A timestamp, so ties can be broken and stale rows found. | Never shown | Until you delete your account |
That is the complete list. There is no hidden field, no device fingerprint, and no identifier we use to follow you between apps. Advertising partners collect separately, and differently — that is covered next.
Advertising
The game is free, and ads pay for it. Some appear between rounds; others you choose to watch — a rewarded ad in exchange for a revive or gems. You are never charged for watching one, and declining one only costs you the reward.
Who serves them
We do not sell ad space ourselves or choose which ad you see. That is done by advertising platforms, which in turn work with a rotating set of advertising networks:
| Partner | What they do | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Serves ads and measures whether they were seen. | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| AppLovin | Serves ads, and mediates between networks to pick the highest-paying one for each slot. | applovin.com/privacy |
| Mediated networks | Other advertising networks that AppLovin and AdMob buy from on our behalf. Which ones are involved changes over time. | Listed in the app |
What they collect
To choose an ad, measure it, and stop showing you the same one repeatedly, these partners collect from your device:
- Your advertising ID — a resettable identifier Android provides for this purpose
- Your IP address, and the approximate region it implies (city or country level, not a precise position)
- Device information — model, operating system version, language, screen size, carrier, and network type
- Ad interactions — which ads were shown, how long you watched, and whether you tapped
We do not give advertising partners your player ID, your gamer tag, your avatar, or your scores. Nothing that identifies you as a player of this game leaves our servers.
Your choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before any personalised advertising happens, and you can change that answer at any time from the game's settings. Refusing means you still see ads — they are simply chosen without using your data.
On any device, Android lets you limit this directly: open Settings → Privacy → Ads to delete or reset your advertising ID. Deleting it stops apps receiving one at all.
Buying the subscription removes ads from the game.
What we don't collect
- No email address. Play Games does not share the address on your Google account, and we never ask for one. We have no way to email you unless you email us first.
- No password. There is nothing here to log into. Google handles sign-in, and no credential of yours ever reaches us.
- No real name. We see your gamer tag, which is whatever you chose it to be.
- No location. The app requests no location permission. Your country comes from your phone's region setting; an advertising partner's rough guess from your IP address is theirs, not ours.
- No contacts, photos, files, camera, or microphone. The app requests none of these permissions.
- No phone number and no date of birth.
- No payment details. Purchases go through Google Play, which never shows us a card number.
- No selling of data, ever — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anybody.
What stays on your device
Your progress and settings are saved in the app's private storage on your phone. None of it is uploaded:
- Your best score, highest tile reached, and number of games played
- Your gem balance and whether you hold an active subscription
- Sound, music, and vibration switches, and the two volume levels
- Whether you have seen the tutorial
- Your saved game, so a run you leave halfway can be resumed
Uninstalling the game deletes all of it. Because it never leaves the device, we cannot restore it for you — signing in is what preserves your best score.
Where your data is stored
Accounts and leaderboard entries are held in Google Cloud Firestore, in Google's nam5 multi-region — data centres in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your account data is transferred there and stored there.
Google acts as our data processor and secures that infrastructure. Their handling is described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy. Transfers are covered by Google Cloud's standard contractual clauses.
Advertising partners store what they collect on their own infrastructure, under their own policies, linked in the table above.
How we protect your data
- In transit, everything between the game and our servers is encrypted with TLS. The app makes no plain-text connection.
- At rest, your data is encrypted by Google Cloud on the disks it sits on.
- Access is enforced by the server, not merely hidden in the app. The rules are set out below, and they reject a request that breaks them no matter what sent it.
- We hold no credentials. There is no password of yours for anyone to steal from us, because sign-in never leaves Google's hands.
- Only the people who need it can reach production data, and only for support and maintenance.
If a breach ever exposes your data, we will tell you and the relevant supervisory authority without undue delay — within 72 hours where the law sets that deadline — and say plainly what was exposed and what to do about it.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we hold as little about you as the game can function with, which is the most effective protection there is.
Who can see your profile
A leaderboard is a public list, so treat your gamer tag, avatar, score, tile and country as public. Any signed-in player can see them.
Access is enforced on our server, not merely hidden in the app. The rules permit exactly this and nothing more:
- Only signed-in players can read the board at all.
- You can write only to your own row. Nobody can edit or damage yours.
- A score can only go up. A stale device cannot walk your record backwards.
- No player can delete a row, including their own — deletion goes through us, so we can confirm the request first.
Purchases and subscriptions
Gems and the monthly subscription are sold through Google Play's billing system. Google processes the payment and holds the payment details.
We never see your card number, bank details, or billing address. The game receives only a confirmation from Google that a purchase completed, which it uses to credit your gems or unlock your subscription. Refunds, payment history, and subscription management are handled by Google Play, in the Play Store app under Payments and subscriptions.
Deleting your account and your data
Email 4096game@gmail.com and ask us to delete your account. Include your gamer tag, because we hold no email address for you — that name is the only way we can find your data.
We delete the player ID, the gamer tag, the avatar link, and every score attached to them within 30 days, and reply to confirm. Nothing is retained afterwards except what the law requires us to keep — for a purchase, the transaction record Google holds, which is theirs and not ours to erase.
You do not need a reason, and we will not try to talk you out of it. If you would rather keep the account but come off the board, sign out — your row stays until you ask for it to go, but nothing further is written.
To remove what is on your phone, uninstall the app. To disconnect the game from your Play Games profile, open the Play Games app, then Settings → Your data → Delete Play Games account data.
Children
This game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Sign-in requires a Google Play Games profile, which Google governs with its own age and family controls — including the parental consent rules that apply to children under the laws of their country.
Because the game shows ads, this matters beyond sign-in. Where a player is known or likely to be under the age of consent in their country, we instruct our advertising partners to treat the request as child-directed. That switches off personalised advertising and limits what those partners are permitted to collect.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has an entry on our leaderboard, email us with their gamer tag and we will delete it. No verification or paperwork is needed.
Your rights over your data
Depending on where you live — including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU and UK GDPR, and comparable laws elsewhere — you may have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to withdraw your consent to our holding it.
Every one of those requests goes to 4096game@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days and charge nothing.
Our lawful basis for holding your account and score is your consent, given when you choose to sign in, and withdrawable at any time by asking us to delete the account. For personalised advertising, the basis is the separate consent the game asks for where the law requires it.
If you are in the United States
Residents of California and of other states with comparable laws have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and have never done so. Exercising any of these rights costs nothing, and we will not degrade the game for you because you did.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the game collects, we will update this page and raise the version number and effective date at the top before the new version reaches the Play Store. Material changes — a new category of data, a new kind of recipient — will also be announced in the game itself.
